When you start your day with champagne popped at sunrise your day can only go up from there. I mean, way to start at an eleven, am I right?
Stephanie and Spencer eloped during the pandemic in 2020 and hired me for an early December photoshoot to celebrate and create announcement photos for family and friends! We chose two locations that would show off Boulder's incredible landscape in the early morning. Having photos to remember their time living here was essential to these two. With Spencer's career in the Air Force leaving their future living arrangements unknown, capturing these moments is really precious. Their assignment near Boulder wouldn't be forever!
When choosing locations, it was important to keep in mind that Stephanie's dog Allie has leg mobility concerns that meant the shorter the trail, the easier it would be for her. She was such a sweet pup and I think you'll agree, at least as photogenic as her parents (if not more). Our second location showed off Colorado's iconic red sandstone rock formations. Most people think of Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison or Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs for red rocks, but I can name you at least three locations in Boulder off the top of my head where you can find red rocks. I mean, how epic do the red rocks in that first photo look in the morning light?
Sunrise isn't as hard as you think, either! In early December sunrise isn't until 7:10am which is nothing like our summertime 5:30am sunrises. (I convince people that this is reasonable all the time ;) Just check out this October sunrise engagement at Chautauqua or this snowy November sunrise engagement at Chautauqua.
