Friends, I present to you the goofiest and sweetest couple of all time: Kate and Spencer. Spencer proposed to Kate after a trip to Japan with a ring he had designed with help from Kate's mom. (Kate and her mom make jewelry, and his mother-in-law sourced the stone at a gem show!) We met at this gorgeous mountain meadow partly because it was November and while most outdoor landscapes can look a little, well, deceased this time of year (haha) a vast meadow with pine trees and mountain views never goes out of style.
Rarely have I had a couple that made me laugh harder, at first with their initial awkwardness (taking photos is hard!) and as they settled into our rhythm and learned a few tips and tricks from yours truly, at their jokes. With a smile as big as Spencer's, you can't help but smile in return. I'm getting wrinkles thanks to my job, but luckily they're laugh lines ;)
In the end, Kate and Spencer were one of my many couples who had planned a 2020 wedding and had those plans thwarted by a global pandemic. After doing their engagement photos in November 2019, I knew we needed to reconnect before their September 2021 nuptials! We met for beers at Sanitas Brewing in Boulder to go over their timeline and they shared that they had bought a house during the pandemic. Et voila, the idea for a front porch session with their dog Eddie was born! Is there anything better than not one, but two engagement sessions? Though this first one will always have a special place in my heart.
Curious about their wedding? Check out how these two cleaned up nice for their downtown Boulder fall wedding at the St. Julien Hotel and the Riverside.
