We all have those friends. The ones who met in high school and never stopped dating, who married and began a family... the ones who have been together since before you went to college, or understood what "adulting" really meant. The ones who have grown together through it all. Karin and Ryan are those friends in my high school group, and when we decided to take photographs in Valley Forge together I was over the moon excited. I was excited to see through my camera their bond so many years in the making... excited to give them a gift that becomes more and more important with each passing year: the gift of photographs that serve as a reminder of WHO you are, without the house, the kids, the job - just you.
Their September anniversary session in Valley Forge Park near the Philander Chase Knox estate was overcast, which was a relief on such a hot weekend. The light was low but the love was there as they walked through crunchy leaves and danced to their first dance song.
