"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." - Lao Tzu
Nic & Amanda's August wedding at The Wedgewood on Boulder Creek was a daydream. A light rain shower at Chautauqua just before our arrival cleared some of the heavy Sunday foot traffic off the paths, which was perfect for their first look. After a private stroll together, we invited their families and the wedding party onto the trail with us for photos. Nic and Amanda were smiling from ear to ear all day long.
The overcast skies kept everyone cool and happy at Chautauqua, and after an hour enjoying the mild weather we headed to The Wedgewood on Boulder Creek for their ceremony and reception. The groom's family has a long tradition of baking pies for family gatherings. Nic and Amanda's wedding was no exception! Nic's parents provided the pie that they cut after dinner, and made a custom pie dish with their wedding date painted on it. It was so incredibly thoughtful.
My favorite part of the day was walking along the creek with the newlyweds. Their happiness was infectious, and I laughed hard behind the lens. Amanda's laugh is like a cozy sweater on a cool fall day. Nic's smile makes you smile reflexively. They held each other, poked fun, and ultimately we created some of my favorite photographs at this gorgeous venue.
